PIC Selected to Operate Upper Michigan Energy Resources Corporation (UMERC) Kuester and Mihm Sites

Atlanta, GA., January 28, 2018 – PIC Group, Inc. has been awarded a five-year contract to provide Operation & Maintenance Services for the F.D. Kuester and A.J. Mihm Generating Stations in Michigan.

 

UMERC awarded the O&M contract to PIC for this new gas-fired generation project which will improve generation reliability to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

 

On announcing the execution of the five-year contract, Frank Avery, PIC Group, Inc. The projects represent two of the largest economic developments in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and will help provide long-term stability for the region. The two sites which are located in Baraga and Marquette counties in Michigan constitute an investment of approximately $270M and consist of natural gas-fired reciprocating engine units (RICE) for a combined power output of 180MW. The facilities will incorporate Wärtsilä technology and will be in commercial operation in mid-2019.
